Benteke Out For At Least Six Weeks

  It was being reported yesterday that Crystal Palace would be without the services of striker Christian Benteke for at least six weeks.

With the Belgian international picking up what looked like a ligament injury in the heavy five nil defeat to Manchester City at the weekend, he left the pitch in the 72nd minute, Hodgson was concerned at the full time whistle given our lack of options up front and the Telegraph were one of many to report that following initial scans, a minimum time frame of six weeks had been given for a return to action.

The worry there is that's the initial time frame and they reported there are fears he could be out for longer than six weeks but further investigations are planned.

Hopefully Palace will provide some clarity shortly.

With a failure to sign strikers during the summer window, Palace could still turn to the free agent market and they have one space left in the Premier League 25 man squad.
